Racism Against Truck Drivers Ended - With the Help of CNN

Several years ago (2009) several employees of the City of Philadelphia came to see me. They were sanitation truck drivers, all African American. They insisted that their terminal supervisor, who was white, had arranged a separate bathroom for African American drivers and another bathroom only for the use of white drivers. I could not believe that this was true in 2009 in Philadelphia, but several depositions indicated the truth of what the drivers had told me. The Head of the Sanitation Department, who was African American, did not want to settle the case because it reflected badly on her. Eventually, the City, after I had managed to attract the attention of CNN and was interviewed by Don Lemon, paid six figures to settle the case.
